Sophia is originally from Itasca, IL and came to the University of Iowa for her undergraduate studies. She is pursuing a B.S. degree in Human Physiology with minors in Spanish and Chemistry. In addition to her bachelor’s degree, she is on the pre-med track with hopes of becoming a physician. Being interested in research, she joined the Sowers lab in November of 2024, as an undergraduate research assistant.
