Tyler was born and raised across state in Sioux City, Iowa. He currently attends the University of Iowa as a third-year undergraduate pursuing his B.S. in Human Physiology on the pre-med track. Tyler joined the Sowers lab as an undergraduate research assistant in May 2026. Outside of lab, he is enlisted as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy Reserves, where he hopes to commission into the Medical Officer Corps following his education. He is also a member of the pre-medical fraternity, Phi Delta Epsilon.
